Student Research Grants 2011 – call for proposals

The Montana Academy of Sciences Announces:

STUDENT RESEARCH GRANTS – 2011

The Montana Academy of Sciences (MAS) is pleased to be able to award research grants to undergraduate and graduate students in the State of Montana.  These grants (up to $500.00) are intended to help students pursue research projects at all Montana Universities, 4-year Colleges and Tribal Colleges.  Application due date has been extended to  March 21, with awards expected within two months for research during summer and the next academic year.  Students that receive funding are expected to present the results of their research at the MAS annual meeting in the spring following the award.

All undergraduate and graduate students engaged in scientific research at the institutions above are eligible.  Students need not be members of MAS.  However, the application must be signed by and accompanied by a letter of support from a faculty mentor at the institution.  If the faculty mentor is not a member of MAS, and the grant is awarded, it is expected that the faculty mentor will join the Academy.  The membership form can be found on our website along with other information regarding this grant program.
